While Nintendo’s next mobile game is sure to be Mario Kart Tour in the west, the next mobile game in Japan may actually be a new action RPG title. Continuing Nintendo’s ongoing mobile endeavors, the company has teamed up with Japanese mobile gaming giant Cygames to produce a new action role-playing game called Dragalia Lost.
Cygames is currently one of the biggest gaming companies in Japan, with the one of the company’s biggest success to date being the hugely popular mobile role-playing game Granblue Fantasy.
Cygames is also partnering with both Platinum Games and are working on a console version of Granblue Fantasy.
According to an article on Forbes, this new deal sees Nintendo acquiring 5% of Cygames and operation of Dragalia Lost in the West. This also ties into the DeNA and Nintendo partnership, as DeNA also owns a 24% stake in Cygames.
The game will be a free to play game with in game monetization, though the extent of which is not yet know.
While the game is expected to have a Summer release in Japan and across Asia, a Western release is said to be planned but no release dates have been announced.
