With another holiday season well underway everyone seems to be squarely focused on Nintendo’s next generation. And while there is certainly some hype and excitement for the Nintendo Switch, that’s not going to happen until 2017. Nintendo of Canada is putting their full attention on the next few months and has a solid first party lineup to wrap up this year.<\/p>\n
Never one for being big and bold, Nintendo of Canada held a little event tucked away in downtown Toronto over the weekend giving a hands on of some of their holiday titles. Some are already on stores shelves while others are in the pipeline. And while the NES Classic Edition, which will be released later this week, wasn’t available for demo, there were plenty of other games. <\/p>\n

Also playable over the weekend was Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS<\/a>, which looks slick on Nintendo’s portable. The game comes packed with 100 built-in courses and once again lets you design courses and share them with other players via StreetPass and local wireless, though it’s not possible to share them online this time around.<\/p>\n
Also playable at the event were Paper Mario: Color Splash, which was a big hit with many of the kids at the event. I had my two little ones with me for the day and they both took their turn with the game and both came away impressed and wanting more.<\/p>\n
