Less than a year after their release, could Activision be dropping Skylanders Battlecast<\/em>?<\/p>\n

Based on the Skylanders videogame series, Skylanders Battlecast<\/em> launched in May of this year. The game is a free-to-play mobile card game where players build their ultimate deck of cards, master strategic card combinations and use them in never before seen battles. In addition to the digital cards in the game, physical card packs are also available for purchase in retail stores.<\/p>\n

But since the first release of the cards, and a few minor updates to the app, there have been no further releases of cards or any major updates to the game itself.<\/p>\n

The price for both the booster packs and battle packs have been reduced at some retailers, including EB Games<\/a>. Booster packs at the Canadian retailer has dropped from $6.99 to $1.99 while the battle packs have dropped from $13.99 to $4.99. Best Buy<\/a> has also cut the price of the cards, dropping booster packs to $3.99 and battle packs to $6.99.<\/p>\n

Toys’R’Us, Amazon, and Walmart haven’t followed suit and are still selling the cards at full price.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if Activision has any plans to update the mobile game or release any further cards.<\/p>\n
