Mario Kart 8<\/em> was a favourite of mine on the Wii U. I got my system late so the game had been out for a while when I picked up Mario Kart 8 but I was instantly hooked. The game looked amazing and played just like a fun and silly multiplayer racer should. It was at heart a true Mario Kart game and was a brilliant new game in the franchise.<\/p>\n

So with the launch of the Switch, and the somewhat lackluster sales figures of the Wii U, it makes total sense that instead of making another new Mario Kart game what we’re getting is a refreshed game with a lot more packed in.<\/p>\n

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe<\/em> will come packed with all of the content from the Wii U game as well as all of the DLC characters and tracks which were released subsequently. Plus there are a bunch of new characters joining the race roster.\u00a0Inkling Girl & Inkling Boy from Splatoon<\/em>, King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr. are all joining the roster.<\/p>\n

The game will also include a revised battle mode on new and returning battle courses. it will support local play in up to 4-player multiplayer in 1080p while playing in TV Mode. Local wireless multiplayer with multiple Switches will boost that up to 8 players, and up to 12 players in online multiplayer.<\/p>\n
