July 21st marks the first anniversary of Splatoon 2, and Nintendo is celebrating with a global Splatfest. The theme of the Splatfest couldn’t be any more dividing than the Calie vs. Marie that was the finale of the original Splatoon.<\/p>\n
Which sea creature is your favorite, Squid or Octopus?<\/p>\n
This hotly contested Splatfest will occur from tonight at midnight, that’s July 21st at 12:00am and will conclude late Saturday night, July 21st at 11:59pm.<\/p>\n
To make the event more special, players on Team Squid will play as Inklings, and players on Team Octopus will play as Octolings. Even if you don\u2019t have the Octo Expansion, if you\u2019re reppin\u2019 Team Octopus, you\u2019ll play as Octolings. On the other hand, those fighting for Team Squid will play as Inklings even if their usual character is set to Octoling.<\/p>\n
This appearance will only change during Splatfest battles. In the Square, you\u2019ll appear as your usual self.<\/p>\n
