{"id":14425,"date":"2018-09-13T22:29:00","date_gmt":"2018-09-14T02:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.darkainarts.com\/gamers\/?p=14425"},"modified":"2018-09-13T22:30:27","modified_gmt":"2018-09-14T02:30:27","slug":"nintendoswitch-online-launches-next-week-with-20-nes-games-and-new-wireless-controllers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.darkainarts.com\/gamers\/2018\/09\/nintendoswitch-online-launches-next-week-with-20-nes-games-and-new-wireless-controllers\/","title":{"rendered":"Nintendo Switch Online launches next week with 20 NES games and new wireless controllers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nintendo Switch Online\u00a0<\/strong>launches next week.\u00a0With Nintendo Switch Online, members gain access to online play and Save Data Cloud backup in compatible games, the <em>NES \u2013 Nintendo Switch Online<\/em> collection of classic games with added online play, special offers and a smartphone app with features to make online gaming sessions more fun and engaging for supported games.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to\u00a0<em>Splatoon 2<\/em>, more online games will support voice chat through the app, including\u00a0<em>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe<\/em>,\u00a0<em>ARMS<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Mario Tennis Aces<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Nintendo Switch owners won\u2019t automatically become members when the service launches on Sept. 18, so you&#8217;ll need to purchase an individual or family membership in order to continue enjoying their online play in compatible games.<\/p>\n<p>In Canada a 1-Month Membership will run you $4.99 CDN, a 3-Month Membership costs $9.99 CDN, while a 12-Month Membership will set you back $24.99 CDN. If you have two or more Nintendo accounts on the same Switch you can elect to purchase a Family Membership which costs $44.99 CDN for up to 8 Nintendo Account holders for a 12-month membership.<\/p>\n<div class=\"column col4 col12-tab col12-mob\"><\/div>\n<p>A free seven-day trial will also be available. At launch there will be\u00a020 NES games available for the service with more games added regularly. The launch titles are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"content-copy b3\">\n<li>Soccer<\/li>\n<li>Tennis<\/li>\n<li>Donkey Kong\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Mario Bros.\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Super Mario Bros.\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Balloon Fight\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Ice Climber\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Mario\u2122<\/li>\n<li>The Legend of Zelda\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Super Mario Bros.\u2122 3<\/li>\n<li>Double Dragon<\/li>\n<li>River City Ransom<\/li>\n<li>Ghosts&#8217;n Goblins\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Tecmo Bowl<\/li>\n<li>Gradius<\/li>\n<li>Pro Wrestling<\/li>\n<li>Excitebike\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Yoshi\u2122<\/li>\n<li>Ice Hockey<\/li>\n<li>Baseball<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"shutterbox\" href=\"http:\/\/www.darkainarts.com\/gamers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/nes_wireless_controllers.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-14426\" src=\"http:\/\/www.darkainarts.com\/gamers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/nes_wireless_controllers.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a>Future games for October 2018 are Solomon\u2019s Key, NES\u2122 Open Tournament Golf, and Super Dodge Ball. November 2018 additions are Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack, and TwinBee. In December 2018 we&#8217;ll see Wario&#8217;s Woods, Ninja Gaiden, and ADVENTURES OF LOLO added to the service.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps most exciting of all in the announcment is the introduction of\u00a0<strong>Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers<\/strong>:\u00a0These\u00a0new wireless Nintendo Entertainment System controllers are available for purchase exclusively for Nintendo Switch owners with a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership in the U.S. and Canada. This re-creation of the original, iconic NES controller comes in a pack of two for $59.99 and can be charged by attaching to a docked Nintendo Switch system.<\/p>\n<p>NES controllers will be available for pre-order on September 18th.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think of Nintendo Switch Online?
