The physical and digital collectible card game Lightseekers<\/strong> was just released on the Nintendo Switch and developer Play Fusion plans to release the game for Steam in Q1, but if you’re looking to buy the cards in Canada you’re going to have a harder time.<\/p>\n

Since the Nintendo Switch release I’ve been visiting my local Toys’R’Us store and picking up decks and booster packs. I love TCGs and playing the game both on my device and physically is appealing to me.<\/p>\n

Well to be honest I’m more of a collector of the cards. But being able to scan them into the game is a fun touch. It’s like in-game micro transactions but with tangible items.<\/p>\n

I went into Toys’R’Us yesterday and Lightseekers was gone. The section, which had been full of stock just a week prior, was barren.<\/p>\n

It seems Toys’R’Us has pulled Lightseekers<\/em> from store shelves.<\/p>\n

<\/center>“Unfortunatley this product is no longer sold at Toys R Us,” said Courtney from customer service in Hamilton when asked about the disappearance. “It has been discontinued and removed from the sales floor.”<\/p>\n

She went on to explain that Lightseekers did not sell very well.<\/p>\n

It’s unclear if only a few select locations are affected however since the brand has also disappeared from the Toys’R’Us website<\/a> it’s a safe bet that all stores had their inventory returned.<\/p>\n

With no other large local brick and morter stores carrying Lightseekers<\/em>, online retailers seem to be the only other option. However sellers on sites like eBay have either inflated prices above MSRP or have the higher costs hidden in offensive shipping rates. The same is true for sites like Amazon<\/a> which allow “Marketplace” sellers to charge higher than MSRP prices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
