\nNintendo is planning to let users have more access to their Nintendo Network accounts … from somewhere other than their Nintendo device.<\/p>\n

By the end of this year, Nintendo will be adding a new system that allows players to manage their Nintendo Network accounts through smartphones and PC. They\u2019ll also be able to make their purchases there too. This is a part of Nintendo\u2019s plans to further enforce their downloadable sales, while showing players what else there is in store for them.<\/p>\n

The company has been struggling with sluggish financial results for some time now, and to climb their way back up, they look forward to expanding their digital business.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is crucial for expanding profitable opportunities,\u201d Iwata says, and reiterated that Nintendo plans on strengthening download sales of the company\u2019s software.<\/p>\n

Nintendo\u2019s popular life simulation game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, had a quarter of its total sales from downloads. The way games are being purchased has changed.<\/p>\n
