You can import the characters into your game and build their stats. This isn&#8217;t really anything new for sure, but the fact that Nintendo plans to make the figures compatible with multiple titles that are in development is.<\/p>\n<p>The figures are being called <em>amiibo<\/em>. a<strong>Mii<\/strong>bo, get it?<\/p>\n<p>The interactive figures will have the ability to communicate with multiple specially designed games by just touching them to the Wii U GamePad controller. Nintendo plans to release first series of <em>amiibo<\/em> this year alongside <em>Super Smash Bros. for Wii U<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nFEATURES:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>amiibo<\/em> can interact with compatible games when players touch them to the Wii U GamePad controller, reading character data into games and saving data to the figure.<\/li>\n<li>Different compatible games will use <em>amiibo<\/em> in different ways. <em>Super Smash Bros. for Wii U<\/em> will be the first game to use <em>amiibo<\/em>. Games like <em>Mario Kart 8<\/em>, <em>Mario Party 10<\/em>, <em>Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker<\/em> and <em>Yoshi\u2019s Woolly World<\/em> are also planned to support <em>amiibo<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>In <em>Super Smash Bros.<\/em>, players can battle alongside or against their <em>amiibo<\/em> characters, leveling them up in the process. They can then bring them to a friend who has a Wii U and the game to show off how they\u2019ve trained and customized their characters.<\/li>\n<li>A new NFC reader\/writer, which is being designed for Nintendo 3DS, is scheduled to launch in 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The one thing that I really hope that Nintendo does with these is that they GO CRAZY with the concept. Make tons of these figures. The video promised more than just what was shown initially, but let&#8217;s get tons. I&#8217;m talking about every possible Nintendo character, or licensed characters like Sonic, Mega Man and the like, and have these available. This could be a great way to make Mario Party 10 (or Bowswer Party) an epic and must have title with a wide assortment of available characters to play with.<\/p>\n<p>The one thing that has to be taken into consideration is that every figure made MUST be compatible with EVERY compatible title. If Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is going to support <em>amiibo<\/em> then ALL of the figures need to be usable.
