The game is in development at Bioware in Edmonton and Monttreal and expected to be released in late 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The new game will combine the storytelling legacy that BioWare is known for with deep RPG gameplay and will feature a brand new RPG engine utilizing EA&#8217;s Frostbite 2 technology.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->&#8220;The Dragon Age team has been working on Dragon Age 3: Inquisition for almost two years now,&#8221; said Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal.  &#8220;We\u2019ve been poring over player feedback from past games and connecting directly with our fans. They haven\u2019t held back, so we\u2019re not either. With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they\u2019re asking for \u2013 a great story with choices that matter, a massive world to explore, deep customization and combat that is both tactical and visceral.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The franchise has sold over 8 million copies to date and has spawned novels, comics and an animated film. <\/p>\n<p>The game&#8217;s executive producer Mark Darrah confirmed some details of the game in a letter posted on the game&#8217;s official website.<\/p>\n<ul>\n\u2022 The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition.<br \/>\n\u2022 We won\u2019t be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title.<br \/>\n\u2022 This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins.  It\u2019s composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers.<br \/>\n\u2022 We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armor and followers\u2026 Yeah, that kind of customization. We\u2019ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.\n<\/ul>\n<p>Added Flynn, \u201cAt the same time, we know we need new technology to truly make this vision become fully realized. And we\u2019ve been working with DICE to make Frostbite 2 the foundation for the engine that is going to power Dragon Age 3.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No platforms were announced, though with the second game being released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC those platforms are likely.
