Billed as the greatest gaming spectacle in Canadian history, EGLX is setting out to be Canada&#8217;s first foray into the world of large-scale gaming conventions.<\/p>\n<p>The convention will have the staple of any good festival. The event will be stacked with online celebrities, cosplay, tabletop games, arcades, a family zone, parties, as well as tons of vendors and shops. There will also be game indie game developers on hand at the event from Toronto\u2019s indie scene. You may even get some hands on time to try some new and unreleased titles.<\/p>\n<p>And of course the core of most gaming conventions are the gaming tournaments. Games in the tournaments include <em>Hearthstone<\/em>, <em>Halo 5<\/em>, <em>Super Smash Bros.<\/em>, <em>League of Legends<\/em>, and <em>Street Fighter V<\/em> among others.<\/p>\n<p>There will even be a more casual tournament featuring Indie games like <em>Runbow<\/em>. And for those who want to just play some games and not actually compete in a tournament there will be a free play section all weekend for some <em>Mario Kart 8<\/em>, <em>Duck Hunt<\/em>, and <em>Just Dance<\/em> among others.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The convention takes place from Friday, April 29th thru Sunday, May 1st at The International Centre in Mississauga. There are various ticket prices depending on whether you want to enter tournaments or just want to take it all in, but general admission for the weekend will run you $49 if you pre-register or $60 at the door.
