The most recent game in the Silent Hill franchise will finally see a release across the Pacific as Konami has given the survival horror game a release date.
Released this past March in North America and Europe, the game will frighten Japanese gamers beginning November 8th. While the game was released in North America on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, the game will only hit store shelves in Japan for the PS3.
To mark the occasion Konami has set up an official website for the game, complete with screen shots and a trailer, though this is nothing new for North American gamers.
Silent Hill Downpour is the latest Silent Hill game offering the familiar Survival Horror gameplay delivered in the most defined visual quality to date. The game also expands on the exploration theme of the franchise both design-wise and through psychological torture, ambient story, horrific enemies and self-evaluative questions of despair.
The game follows Murphy Pendleton, who has been incarcerated for several years with his sentence already extended once. Due to his history in prison, he is being transferred to a nearby Maximum Security Penitentiary, but a freak accident cuts the trip short. Waking up in a forest next to the wrecked bus, Murphy has a clear shot at freedom. He makes his way into the sleepy town of Silent Hill where mysterious locals welcome him into a slowly developing personal hell.
The game will also have different cover art than the original international release, which can be seen below.
