For years, video gaming has been missing someone important. Koji Igarashi gave us many Castlevania titles that lead through incredible stories and unfolded the Metroidvania style of gaming many of us came to adore. Not only were we exploring Dracula’s castle, but we were able to do that in a very Metroid sort of way with RPG leveling elements added in. For many, these were and still are perfect games. Unfortunately IGA’s time working on these titles ended far too soon and from a brand new Kickstarter, it’s clear that he understands that.

This is what many of us have been waiting for. The return to side scrolling adventure from a master himself. We need publishers to see these titles for what they are, the heart of retro gamers. With Mighty No. 9 on the way to continue the feeling of the Mega Man franchise that has gone cold, we now can bring back Castlevania as IGA’s new title, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

It’s clear this is something gamers want. You can sit there on the Kickstarter page and watch the funds just rolling in. We need this! I miss the adventures of Alucard, Soma, and so many others. Charlotte, Jonathan! We may not see those characters again, but what we can see is another masterpiece from IGA himself.

If you want to help IGA create his next Symphony, stop by the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter Page.
