Watching the video teaser for Dementium Remastered made me look back at my Nintendo 3DS and wonder what happened. How did I miss this game? Sure 2007 was before I was writing for a video game blog and my depth of the video game industry wasn’t as deep, but how did I miss this game? It looks … grim. And that’s a good thing.

The game is a 3D remake of Renegade Kid’s orginal DS title Dementium: The Ward, which debuted for the Nintendo DS nearly eight years ago, on Halloween 2007. It marked Renegade Kid’s first foray into the videogame scene as an independent developer. The game did well in the reviews and received a bunch of awards.

Dementium Remastered takes the guts of the original game and presents them with improved graphics, better gameplay, and high-quality audio. The developer also states that the game will run at 60 frames per second on the handheld … with 3D on.

Dementium Remastered tells the tale of a man who awakens to find himself alone in a mysterious, derelict hospital that is frozen in time. Confronted by the deadly, grotesque surgical experiments that wander the halls, a series of challenging puzzles, and a cast of peculiar characters, he must face his deepest fears, unlock the mysteries of the hospital, and escape with his life. A completely new experience on the Nintendo 3DS, Dementium Remastered promises to creep you out with gory visuals and bone-chilling audio that brings the world screaming to life.

We’re hoping to get our hands on this creepy looking game when it nears release, which hasn’t been set as of yet. The game will retail for $14.99 in the Nintendo eShop.
