What’s another season without a Mario sports title. Nintendo never ceases to amaze with their silly yet surprisingly deep sports titles.

Last year we saw a new Mario Golf title with Toadstool Tour title on the Nintendo 3DS and this year the Wii U will get the sport treatment with another tennis game. With the game exactly one month away Nintendo has released a new gameplay trailer for the game.

Along with the fun and dynamic gameplay known to the franchise, the game has a new surprise for your opponents with a new move to the series, the Jumpshot, which sends the ball flying down the court.

You can also change up the sport with new Mega Battles, using the Mega Mushroom to gain an advantage over the competition.

Ultra Smash is the fifth game in the Mario Tennis franchise, making the series’ obligatory appearance on the Wii U. The series started on the Nintendo 64 and spawned sequels on the Gamecube, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo 3DS. Oddly there was no game made for the Wii itself, which would have suited with the system’s motions controls.

There isn’t a lot of information on the new game just yet and while the box art does tout the Nintendo Network logo, there hasn’t really been specific mention of online gameplay. The promo material states play against friends and family in multiplayer matches in both singles and doubles matches.

The game is once again being developed by Camelot Software and is set to be released on November 20th. The game is rated E for Everyone.
