Yo-kai Watch was a cultural phenomenon in Japan, selling millions of games. The game has spawned a sequel, there is a third 3DS game on the way in 2016, there are spinoff iOS and Android apps, a Just Dance special edition for the Wii U, and there is a spin-off game called Yo-Kai Watch Busters coming for the 3DS.

There are also three manga adaptations, a crossover game with Koei Tecmo’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms on the way, and an anime, which just started in North America. That can be seen on Teletoon in Canada.

Now you can experience the international sensation for yourself. With the game set to be released on November 5th, Nintendo has prepared a YO-KAI WATCH demo, available for download from Nintendo eShop on October 22nd.

But what is a Yo-kai anyway? Is it a spirit? A monster? A ghost? Nope – a Yo-kai is … well, it’s just a Yo-kai! You might not see them because they’re invisible, but they’re all around you every day. And they’re often mischievous, mysterious pranksters who like to make trouble for you. Lose your homework, can’t keep a secret, or find yourself running late to everything? Yo-kai probably made you do it. The Yo-kai are based on common concerns kids have. By confronting those concerns, kids can learn to overcome them.

In the YO-KAI WATCH game, you explore the town of Springdale using your Yo-kai Watch to discover more than 200 Yo-kai, then befriend them and turn them into a team to battle other Yo-kai. Each Yo-kai has its own unique skills and strengths, so you must use them to challenge troublemaking Yo-kai and help people in the game solve their daily problems.

In this special demo, you need to use your Yo-kai Watch to find 3 trouble making Yo-kai to bring peace back to Springdale.

But that’s not all.

Yo-kai have arrived in Canada and they are looking for new friends. This October and November, Jibanyan and Komasan will be stopping at various events and stores to share their upcoming video game, YO-KAI WATCH. Join us to play the game where you can discover, team-up, befriend and battle over 200 mischievous Yo-kai. Also, there will also be exciting YO-KAI WATCH giveaways available!
