If you have Pokémon X or Pokémon Y, or Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Saphire you can take advantage of the 20th Anniversary of the franchise and score yourself some Pokémon. If you have a participating GameStop nearby that is.
Four Mythical Pokémon video game character distribution events will take place at participating GameStop locations throughout 2016, with one being distributed each quarter. Fans can get a code from GameStop to recieve Mew in February, Darkrai in May, Arceus in August, and Genesect in November. In the other months, or if you don’t have a GameStop nearby like we don’t in Canada, you can collect different Pokémon.
Here’s the rundown of what Pokémon and when you can get them. Each of the Pokémon are level 100. These can be collected like normal via Nintendo Network:
- March 1st – 24th: Celebi
- April 1st – 24th: Jirachi
- June 1st – 24th: Manaphy
- July 1st – 24th: Shaymin
- September 1st – 24th: Victini
- October 1st – 24th: Keldeo
- December 1st – 24th: Meloetta
It’s unclear at this point if EB Games will be substituted for GameStop in Canada. GameStop bought EB Games in 2007 so it’s possible that the promotion would extend into Canada in EB Games store. We’ll have to wait and see if that is the case.
